We attended the 2017 National Alpaca Show in Feilding on the 22nd through to the 24th September with some great results.
Completing with our alpacas at this year’s prestigious National Alpaca Show in Feilding. The annual show saw 338 alpacas competing in the breed section, Nevalea Janeva won 1st place in her junior class and was awarded Reserve Champion overall. Nevalea Iory received a 2nd placing in his Intermediate class and was awarded Reserve Champion overall. Nevalea Knight won 1st place in the Junior Black Male and Nevalea Joker 4th place in the same class and Nevalea Jungle won 1st place in the Intermediate Brown Male class. Nevalea Kershaw received 3rd place in the Junior White Males class. The competition was very strong with large numbers in various sections.
The Fleece competition had 198 Fleeces, with local breeder Nevalea Alpacas winning Champion Light Fawn, with their alpaca Nevalea Jasmine’s fleece, also winning a 1st with Nevalea Jett in the Junior Black Fleeces, a 2nd place with Nevalea Hula’s fleece in the Adult Black Female class and a 3rd place with Nevalea Imogen in the Intermediate White Female class.
Alongside the animals competing there was 56 entries in the Absolutely Fabulous Fibre Creations competition, which saw our knitter Kellie, winning the Machine Knitted section with her Dress and fascinator design and a Highly Commended on her alpaca blanket.
An overall great result for team Nevalea taking away a number of trophies and ribbons for the weekend.
